DisciplinesThe competitors at InterShoot shoot their matches either with Air Pistol or Air Rifle. A Men and Junior Males match consists of 60 shots that have to be shot in 1 hour and 45 minutes, a Women and Junior Females match consists of 40 shots that have to be shot in 1 hour and 15 minutes. The best 8 competitors from the details will shoot an 'Olympic Final', whereby finalist will shoot 10 shots, on command, whilst each shot has to be fired within a 75 seconds time limit. Each shot is now counted with an accuracy of 0.1 of a point, the highest being 10.9. The finals score is added to the details score and decides the overall winner. Whilst now most matches are shot on electronig targets, not so long ago they were shot on paper targets, such as these:
Air pistol and Air rifle shooting are some of the oldest Olympic disciplines and are regulated by the ISSF, the International Shooting Sports Federation.
